Assist customers with product problems in the field via the telephone.  Works as a member of a team, maintaining self-directed work in order to obtain the highest level of quality and efficiency.  Assist Supervisor with process improvements to reduce costs and increase departmental efficiency.  Assist Supervisor with departmental employee training.  Position is scheduled rotating hours between 6:30am and 6:30pm weekdays with an occasional Saturday.

Qualifications:

Education and Experience

• AA Degree in Electronics or related field, four (4), or more years equivalent electronics troubleshooting experience.

• Three (3) or more years electronic weighing equipment experience.

Skills and Abilities

• Strong verbal and written communication skills.

• Strong electronic test equipment skills. 

• Strong high reliability soldering skills.

Certificates, licenses, training, or other job-related requirements

• Must supply own hand tools (See checklist for electronic service tools).

Programs new and modifies existing systems programs. Works with system users in the development of programming requirements, ensures that all system programs operate efficiently. Maintain and create computer system business applications.  Maintain and create relational database file systems in conjunction with application development.  Debug current application software and modify within established software modification guidelines.

Performs multiple electrical design functions.  Assist in the design, building, and testing of prototypes and other special equipment.  Provides Bill of Materials, prototype drawings and other engineering documentation.  Provides specifications and other technical data as required.  Design or modify parts, assemblies, or products based on samples, sketches, or input from engineers or customers.  Other job engineering functions as assigned.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/MAJOR TASKS

Assist with the design, building, and testing of prototypes, test fixtures, and other special equipment.

Provide BOMs, prototype drawings, engineering specifications, and other engineering documentation.

Provide specifications and other technical data as required.

Design, modify, or fabricate parts, assemblies, or products based on samples, sketches, or input from engineers or customers.

Provide cost quotation as appropriate and coordinate resources to ensure projects are completed in a timely manner.

Perform tests and document results per test specification or direction from Engineers.

OTHER JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist electronics production with technical support including training.

Assist with testing of Specials hardware and software as required.

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE

Associate Degree in Electronic Design or a related field, or four (4) or more years equivalent experience.

Three (3) or more years electronics design experience.

Skills

Good surface mount and leaded device soldering and light mechanical fabrication.

Good verbal and written communication skills.

Good organizational skills.
