- Stainless steel polished finish, Classes 0 through 4
- Stainless steel satin finish, Classes 5 through 7
- Classes 00 and 0 weights shall not bear any indication of nominal value or serialized
- Classes 1 through 7 have the nominal value marked on the weight
- Density for Classes 1 through 4 is 7.95 g/cm3
- Density for Classes 00 and 0 is 7.95 g/cm3 (1 mg, 2 mg and 5 mg are aluminum with a density of 2.7 g/cm3)
OPTIONAL
- Serial numbers may be applied to case; weights may be laser marked 1 g and larger (additional charges apply)
