Thomas and Johnson Scale Service is established in Rice Lake, Wisconsin. There is high demand for scale service in the area due to thriving creamery, cheese and lumber businesses.

THINKING INSIDE THE BOX

Donald B. Johnson used 30-caliber ammunition boxes as shipping containers for pivots and bearings to be mailed to Rice Lake for refurbishment. This popular service began Rice Lake’s reputation for quick service, quality products and legendary customer support.

THE BEGINNINGS OF A WORLD-RENOWNED METROLOGY LAB

Thomas and Johnson Scale Service becomes Rice Lake Bearing, Inc. and subsequently relocates to a larger building within the same city. Soon, they will construct Rice Lake's mass calibration and metrology lab.

Electronic parts and components are added

Rice Lake acquires offices in Mexico, establishing
Rice Lake de Mexico which becomes the company's Latin and South American office.

CONDEC

The pressure and weighing instrumentation manufacturer Condec located in Connecticut is acquired by Rice Lake.

ISHIDA PARTNERSHIP

Rice Lake partners with Ishida, a Japanese manufacturer, to offer retail weighing and wrapper equipment.

2005


EXPANDING MANUFACTURING CAPACITY

Rice Lake acquires Powell Scale in Alabama to expand heavy capacity manufacturing.

2011


AGRICULTURE INDUSTRY

NORAC Systems International, a Canadian agriculture weighing company, is acquired by Rice Lake.


Rice Lake Weighing Systems India Ltd. is created through a joint venture between Rice Lake and Strategic Weighing Systems in Chennai, India.

MSI - Measurement Systems International

Measurement Systems International (MSI) based in Washington is acquired to broaden Rice Lake's overhead weighing product line.


Rice Lake establishes a manufacturing facility in Nevada to increase manufacturing capacity.

Master Engineering

Master Engineering B.V. in the Netherlands is acquired by Rice Lake, expanding our reach to Europe.

DINI ARGEO

Dini Argeo, founded in 1846 and based in Italy, is acquired by Rice Lake to strengthen our global presence.


Heusser Neweigh metrology lab in California is acquired by Rice Lake.
