The Best Way to Find Axle Weight
Out of three common methods used for axle weighing, a multi-platform truck scale is the most accurate, fastest and the only Legal for Trade axle weighing solution available.
One axle weighing method is to weigh the steering, drive and trailer axles separately on a truck scale, stopping and taring after taking each weight and totaling for a proximate gross weight. Sometimes used for convenience, this method is time consuming and inaccurate. The second method uses an axle scale to weigh axles individually when a truck drives each axle onto the scale, producing non-Legal for Trade weight data helpful in axle and gross weight compliance checking.
The third method, a SURVIVOR multi-platform truck scale, weighs all axles at once with one stop of the truck on the scale. The multi-platform scale has a custom-module design sized for the axle alignments needed for the specific truck lengths required for the application. A multi-platform truck scale is the best method for obtaining both individual axle and gross weights in Legal for Trade applications.
